Time Again
and oh, is it possible—the best is yet to come...
the poem of tomorrow waiting for you to be…
As the number of hours of darkness exceed the number of hours of daylight, my body shifts to hibernation mode. Some days it feels debilitating, wanting nothing more than to curl tightly into a spiraled seed and sleep until spring’s light and warm touch.
And yet, without the darkness, how would I learn to surrender? A seed nestles patiently in deep loamy darkness, holding all her potential waiting for the sacred call, the eruption of light, inviting her at the right time to unfurl her beauty into the world.
Through surrender, I learn how the power of God’s shines through my powerlessness. Not me, but God in me, with me, through my actions and words.
I’m remembering that my time is not mine, but God’s.
Life-light, weaving power through my powerlessness, lives in me, guides me, nourishes and encourages me, poised to shine Love in me and through me.
Maybe in this darkness I’m learning that surrender stretches my heart better than my efforts alone ever could.
On the threshold of this new beginning, the new year with daylight stretching longer each day, I pause, inhale deeply, and exhale deep gratitude for you.
All things have time, and all things under [the] sun pass by their spaces…. Time to cut, and time to sew together; time to be still, and time to speak.
Ecclesiastes 3:1,7 Wycliffe Bible
It is time
again to say
goodbye and hello
study the footprints washing away with the tide
deeper prints still glisten in the burning sun-
set aside time for regrets
to wash over, wash through
let them roll back into the ocean of all-being
time to dwell in the in-between
sink feet deeper into the now…
allow the sacred to flow
through the empty, through the hurt
tomorrow will come in its own time
and oh, is it possible?
the best is yet to come…
time now to let go, let be
make room at the inn of your heart
for the Word
to dwell in an ever-growing spaciousness
ever-becoming capaciousness
Love living through all time
every action, every word a prayer
It is time…
open your wings,
welcoming Life-Light
Light and Life and Love shimmering,
inextinguishable no matter how dark the shadow
unfurl your wings
say hello to the poem
of tomorrow, waiting for you
to be…
Life-Light is inviting you to unfurl your beauty into the world, weaving power through your powerlessness. Life-Light lives in you, guiding you, nourishing and encouraging you, poised to shine Love in you and through you.
May you be safe and free from harm, and may peace and Love abound in your heart and life today and through 2026.
Until next time, the Lord make his face shine upon you and grant you peace…
